What makes teeth sensitive?
Dentistry . Preventive Dentistry . sensitive teeth
Did anyone knows about that??
One of the key reasons for the appearance teeth sensitivity is the weakening of the enamel which leads to the exposure of dentine which, if irritated, causes a sharp pain.
To avoid teeth sensitivity, apart from the right hygiene of the mouth, we also have to follow a balanced diet. Some of our eating habits can directly contribute to the enamel damage, making teeth sensitive. It is mostly related to the excessive consumption of food and drinks with a low pH. The acidic pH of this food weakens enamel straight after consumption. That is why in order to prevent teeth sensitivity we should wait at least one hour before we brush our teeth following consumption of such foods and drinks.
Instead, in the meantime, we can use mouthwash. With this we will help remove food remains and sugar contained in highly sweetened beverages. A perfect way to minimize the adverse effects of sweet snacks is also the right order of eating! First, we should eat food which can damage the enamel. After that, it is good to eat a product rich in calcium and fluoride. These are, among others, milk and dairy products, fish, eggs and even cacao!
