We Dr.Nechupadam Dental, Marine Drive often get many people asking about which toothbrush we recommend to use.

It can be overwhelming to pick a toothbrush when there are so many options, however before addressing the issue of which toothbrush to use you should be making sure you are using your toothbrush correctly! If you are not brushing your teeth correctly, it will not make a difference which toothbrush you use.

To help you pick the right toothbrush for your kids, lets compare the electronic toothbrush and the regular toothbrush.

Electronic Toothbrush Recommendations

In general  electronic toothbrushes  helps Many people get lazy when brushing their teeth and end up not brushing as long they should when using standard toothbrushes. But with an electronic toothbrush, you and your children will know how long your brushing as they are set with timers to vibrate after 2 minutes.

Electronic toothbrushes are also capable to getting to plaque in hard to reach areas, whereas some brushes are not able to reach very well or far.

These toothbrushes will do an excellent job of keeping teeth pearly white and clean.

the rotating oscillating toothbrush consistently provided a statistically significant though modest benefit over manual toothbrushes in reducing plaque (7%) and gingivitis (17%).”

Regular Toothbrush Recommendations

Regular toothbrush will effectively clean your teeth. The problem is that many people do not brush their teeth long enough. It is important to practice proper brushing habits and to teach those techniques to children so they understand the importance of oral hygiene.

A electronic or regular toothbrush will work perfectly to keep teeth healthy as long as you are spending enough time on all areas of your teeth. In general, when you are choosing the best toothbrush, you want to look for a toothbrush that is the correct size for your teeth. If your brush head is to big, you will not be able to maneuver it around your teeth and reach all of the crevasses.

You will also want to make sure that your toothbrush has bristles that match your brushing style. If you brush very hard, you want to get softer bristles so you do not damage your gums. And if your brush too light, then you want to get a toothbrush with medium bristles.

Whatever toothbrush you decide to get, make sure to use proper brushing habits to ensure you have healthy teeth for years to come!
