Oral cavity is a normal problem but if not cared????

Uncategorized

A filling is a way to restore a tooth cavity back to its normal function and shape. When a dentist provides you with a filling, first they remove the decayed tooth material, clean the affected area, and then fill the cleaned out cavity with a filling material.Fillings are not only close off spaces where bacteria can enter but also it cans help to avoid further decay.

Which is the better filling???
Every fillings are not best for everyone. What’s right for you will be determined by the extent of the repair, whether you have allergies to certain materials, and the cost.

In our clinics there have different filling materials like:

gold-fillings
  • Gold fillings: Gold inlays are well tolerated by gum tissues, and may last more than 20 years. For these reasons, many authorities consider gold the best filling material. However, it is often the most expensive choice and requires multiple visits.
tooth filling
  • Amalgam (silver) fillings: Theyare resistant to wear and relatively inexpensive. due to their dark color, they are more noticeable than porcelain or composite restorations.
Composite (plastic) resins
  • Composite (plastic) resins: They matches to be the same color as your teeth and therefore used where a natural appearance is desired. The ingredients are mixed and placed directly into the cavity, where they harden.
porcelain
  • Porcelain fillings: Are also known as inlays or onlays which can be bonded to the tooth. They can be matched to the color of the tooth and resist staining. A porcelain restoration generally covers most of the tooth. Their cost is similar to gold.

  • Glass Ionomer fillings: Are made of Acrylic and a component of glass called fluoro alumino silicate. They are stronger than traditional ones. A bright blue light is used to set the material. They are used most commonly as cement for inlay fillings. It also is used for fillings in front teeth, or around the necks of your teeth, or in roots.

If decay has damaged a large portion of the tooth, a crown, or cap, may be recommended. Decay that has reached the nerve may be treated in two ways:

  1. Root canal Treatment
  2. Pulp capping
